FINOLOGY SUMMIT 2020 - INVESTING BIASES, BELIEFS & BEHAVIOURS Finology is an interesting and unique mix of behavioural finance (“fin”) and investor psychology (“ology”) as it relates to giving investment advice to individual investors. Finology is where investing meets investors™. The finology discipline focuses on identifying investing biases, beliefs and behaviours and the investment outcomes. To achieve this, finology connects behavioural finance and investor psychology - encompassing "know the markets", "know yourself" and "know your clients". Finology Summit 2020 will help you better identify and understand how your own and other people's different investing biases, beliefs and behaviours impact investment markets and portfolio construction practices - and therefore, investment outcomes - to help you build better quality investor portfolios. We'd welcome you joining us!
Graham Rich P.S. Why not also join us for Markets Summit 2020 "Be alert! High VUCA ahead!" (Tue 18 Feb 2020) It facilitates debate on the key drivers of and outlook for the markets (on a three- to five-year view) - with particular emphasis on being alert to the high VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity) risks and opportunities ahead - to aid your search for return, and to help you build better quality investor portfolios. Getting there AIM To help delegates better identify and understand how their own and other people's different investing biases, beliefs and behaviours impact investment markets and portfolio construction practices – and therefore, investment outcomes - to help delegates build better quality investor portfolios. MOST SUITED TO Finology Summit is relevant to all wealth management professionals because we all have a responsibility to understand how our own and other people's different investing biases, beliefs and behaviours impact investment markets and portfolio practices - and therefore investment outcomes. This includes both institutional and wholesale portfolio construction practitioners (the program is designed with both in mind) by whom we mean those whose primary day-to-day role is focused within the spectrum of issues involved in designing and building investment portfolios using (but not necessarily limited to) managed funds from a range of firms. We also recognise and respect the invaluable role of Advocates and welcome them attending. Each year, 300 delegates attend the program, 75% or more of whom are portfolio construction practitioners. CE/CPD ACCREDITATION: 11.5 to 23 CE hrs By attending the face-to-face program in full, delegates can earn 11.5 CE/CPD hours – and then, afterwards, they can earn further CE/CPD hours by “attending” online the sessions they didn't catch at the face-to-face program. CE hours earned can be used to help meet the CE/CPD requirements of 16 governing bodies (regulators, associations and institutes - including ASIC, APRA, FASEA, AFA, FPA, SMSFA and CIMA® CE/CPD requirements.

INTRODUCTION The Forum’s subject matter focus is on five Knowledge Domains – philosophy, markets, strategies, investing and finology. These then determine our Curriculum and Faculty, which together inform the content of our continuing education and certification programs. As the name implies, Finology Summit is focused primarily on our "Finology" knowledge domain:
Finology
– identifying investing biases, beliefs and behaviours and the
investment implications Finology Summit is THE behavioural finance ("fin") and investment psychology ("ology") program of the year. Presented in Sydney each February, the program features an exceptional Faculty of experts from around the world, each offering their best high conviction ideas on behavioural finance and/or investor psychology, and the investment implications. It is presented as a one-day, face-to-face lecture style program, followed by a half-day workshop style program featuring four concurrent 4-hour workshops. It is a companion program to Markets Summit each February and Strategies Conference each August. PROGRAM STRUCTURE Like all our face-to-face and online continuing education programs, Finology Summit is an integrated learning program with preparation, participation and review. Before - Prepare To maximise learning, delegates are provided with pre-reading aimed at boosting their knowledge and getting them thinking about the issues to be addressed in the program. The preparation is assumed prior knowledge. During - Participate The 1.5-day program is designed and curated by our specialist, experienced and independent team. Our exceptional Faculty of carefully selected outstanding subject matter experts from around the world offer their best high conviction ideas on behavioural finance and/or investor pyschology, and the investment implications. Day one is comprised of the 5.5-hour Critical Issues Forum (auditorium lecture) program and 1.5-hour Special Interest Forum (elective lecture) program. You choose your SIF elective on the spot at Finology Summit. Day two delivers three concurrent 4.5-hour Special Interests Workshop (elective classroom) sessions. Finology Summit is not just a talk-fest. Attendees are challenged to decide whether they agree or disagree with each high conviction thesis presented, which ones they will investigate further, and which they will put into practice when building investor portfolios. Finology Summit 2020 Program & Prep After - Review After the face-to-face program, delegates' learning continues. The presentations are webcast here on portfolioconstructionforum.edu.au – a page per presentation featuring the sync’d video and slides, podcast, presentation slides and paper(s). Delegates can revisit and review the sessions they attended, "attend" the Special Interest Forum sessions they didn't catch at the face-to-face program (and earn further CE hours), and review their key takeouts and the portfolio construction implications to determine actions to take to build better quality investor portfolios.
