At Portfolio Construction Forum Strategies Conference in August 2018, I outlined the scenarios that could play out - and one of the scenarios we were concerned about was inflation rising as the US economy tightened. That has started to play out, particularly with wage rises. But, in the interim, we've been overtaken by what that would mean for asset markets. A tighter Fed led to the market weakness, particularly in December.
