Abe and Kuroda - wow!

What new Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Kuroda and his colleagues announced last week was quite dramatic. It is the first time I can remember Japanese policymakers truly and positively surprising markets for a long time - perhaps even ever in my 32 years of work. I shall focus more on this here as my featured topic. But first, I'll cover other interesting items of which there are many.
